Bump. 29g is sold, but I'm still looking to sell the 55g stand. Will entertain trades as well (especially in the market for a UV sterilizer). I also have two Emperor 280s w/biowheel if anyone's interested.
So petsmart had a sale on roseline barbs this weekend for $5 and I decided to pick up a few. Now that they're home and acclimated, one of them seems to be a little "off." Some were banging against my acclimation box and I guess he could have just injured himself. However, it looks like it might...
Just one of those average iron stands for a 55g. I think it's designed to fit two 10 gallon tanks on the bottom as well. - $20
29g includes tank, metal stand, glass top, and light fixture. I can throw in a spare emperor biowheel if interested. - $45
Pick up in Lakewood, NJ 08701.
With the exception of the rainbows (don't have much experience with them), most of the fish you've mentioned are fairly common species that have been captive bred and can adapt to a wide range of water parameters. I do agree, though, that a large group of one or two fish is much more pleasing to...
If you want to breed your gouramis, then I suggest setting up a separate tank for breeding purposes only. You won't find much success in attempting to do so in a community tank.
I'm just gonna brag about that time I got two Aquatop CF400UV for $17 each. Haha

Don't buy fish from walmart. North Jersey has a couple of great LFS from what I've heard. Fishtown USA, Absolutely Fish, and Shark Aquarium are some of the stores I hear most often. Central Jersey has Animals N Things which has a pretty big selection of fish but their condition can be hit or...
Marble betta don't neccessarily need to look like the betta on the bettysplendens page. They can be of any color or pattern. Any time you have a betta with such drastic changes in color, it's probably safe to say that it's a marble.
Not quite. Yes, bettas will "change" colors and patterns as they develop into adulthood. However, once they've reached adults these characteristics are generally set in stone. The only bettas that change colors and patterns that drastically after reaching adulthood are marble bettas...
Actually just found the same thing in my tank with cherry shrimp. They're neat looking guys and I plan on separating them later and hope they breed true. Here you can see a juvie and an older specimen.
I have many tanks; doing maintenance on several smaller tanks is time consuming. Also, plumbing the smaller tanks together will hopefully keep parameters more stable due to the larger volume.
Basically trying to filter/heat a 10g and multiple 2.5gs at the same time. Already went over the pros and cons of connecting the tanks and have decided that this will keep maintenance (mainly frequent water changes) more efficient and less messy. The tanks will use pvc overflows that are...
