Oh I know there are nastier and worse things. I just thought I'd share as I don't usually see this as a common occurrence. The place where I get my corals from keeps them separate from the fish although that's not the brightest reasoning, as I said, I don't have an excuse not to QT them.
I...
Some people run 2 skimmers and some people don't even use skimmers. I would think the majority of people probably run one that's large enough for their tank, as Grins stated.
Well about 10 days ago I bought a mushroom rock with about 9 "neon" green shrooms on it. Since I don't QT my corals (don't have a good excuse not to but I'll probably start soon) I put it directly in my DT.
Friday night I went to bed with everything looking fine. Saturday I woke up to the...
I agree with Subliminal. My clowns were the first fish I added to one of my tanks and they survived with the whole tank coming down with ich, more than once. The clowns showed minimal to absolutely no outward signs of it compared to the others.
Hmmmm. There are others who say to take the shrimp out after the ammonia reaches a certain level but I've always kept mine in. My nitrites were at the top of the chart. After the nitrites were finally 0 (and I think my nitrates were at like 40+ or something) is when I considered my cycle...
To answer your question I do have separate equipment for my fresh and saltwater tanks- separate nets, algae magnets, buckets, etc. I use the same Python though.
However I think it was mostly out of convenience so I could keep that stuff in the same room and cabinet below the tanks. I don't...
I definitely wouldn't keep the same list for a 75G- especially with 5 Tangs, besides the fact one can never know what will happen in 2 years. Others might think differently though.
I wouldn't buy it. I figure if we all "saved" fish from the LFS/chain stores, it would be never-ending, like a catch 22. The LFS would just keep stocking them because of their "demand" (not specifically the moorish idol, just a general example).
Just my personal opinion. Specifically though...
I've thought about that too as I still have the white ones on. Even though I couldn't find the black eggcrate at the time, I guess I just got used to seeing the white. I didn't really want to test it either, to risk a difference. I would think it would be a minor difference, if any. You...
That's awesome that he hooked you up like that!
Hehe, flooding the carpet- been there, done that.
My set-ups are different so I'm just wondering, is that considered some sort of overflow in the second pic?
Starting to really come along! I like the blue mushrooms.
I think it would be cool to have a sticky on that. A lot of online retailers have descriptions like this on their sites, but it would be nice to have it compacted all in one place.
Did you find this somewhere? I'm just curious as to where because I tend to disagree with a couple of things...
Hi and welcome!
Here's decent thead that should get you started. Of course, depending on the equipment, brand, live rock, lighting, livestock, etc., your costs may vary. Although...I've never heard anyone say the saltwater hobby is cheap...
Wow...:bowing:
Thank you! I gave up looking a long time ago.
