I have my male Betta is in a tank with Rasboras, Guppies and Platies without any problems. As stated before, it will only be a problem if the Betta mistakes any other fish as another male Betta. Mine has not touched the male Guppies, since they get out of his way. Two points to consider however...

Very bizarre, I also tip on benign tumor (after a little research), will not stop growing and cannot be removed. I agree with the others, add bact to main tank but if it impedes the fish in any way, put it to rest as gently as possible. Good luck!
