Hi guys, I picked up an apple snail today and put it in my tank and until just a couple hours ago, my betta was fine (he was the only inhabitant). I see now a whitish patch on his head. He behaves just fine but I'm trying to figure out if the patch is a disease, heater burn or slime from the...
Hi guys. I saw these little guys and they look great. They are tiny and from what I understand, they dont get big (about 2"). I plan to have a school of 30 in a planted tank. The only other inhabitants might be some shrimp.
I'm trying to decide on the tank size. You guys think a 75 gallon...
Thanks guys for taking the time to check out the pics and videos. So the bit of white on the mouth or nose is most likely then scrapes due to some fighting or bumping?
DLV, I think my ratio of male to female is 4:1 so maybe I will try picking up a couple more females. PS. Thanks for getting...
I have some pictures of the tank and fish. I have labeled the fish in worst condition as fish A, B and C. I have a shot of the tank so you can see the kind of surrounding (driftwood, rocks, etc) that might be there incase indeed it seems like they are smashing themselves on those when chasing...
Hi Guys, I noticed the video wasnt working for me either. If you right click and save the video to your computer, it will play back fine. I dont know why it doesnt stream.
Thanks
Hi inkyjenn, mine used to have what you describe as the slight grayish look on their lips but then the white started appearing. Its not so much white colour, it looks like its white because the skin is being scraped off or something. I was thinking maybe they are bumping into stuff but I guess...
Sorry to hear the video didnt work. Other than plants I have lots of drift wood and a few large rocks. I'll see if I can take a picture later tonight...it will be very tough with them darting around so fast.
Hi guys, for a long time i've noticed my congos to have a white mouth on the inside but its not fuzzy or anything (not all but many) and many look like their mouth have eroded a little like the skin being gone...but I cant tell if it could be from smashing into rocks or glass or something else...
LOL... He will threaten anything but he hates the thermometer the most - I guess because its reflective and he can partially see himself. Anyway here are some pics of him in his tank. I recently added some sand so the water is still cloudy.
Oh and the thermometer is ancient so most of the...
Yes its a house plant which has rooted in the water and just gone wild :) You should see how far the vines actually go. The one side shows it stretching across the top of the sofa, but it goes beyond that by about 10'
The other side which is not visible has the vine growing down to the...
My water condition has improved drastically. I also think some of the fish like to nibble on the roots so I'm sure its a good source of food for vegeterian fish.
I will try and get you guys closer and better shots. I think any of you thinking about doing this, do it. I've had such improvement in my fish since doing this. Now mind you my plants are years old but even if you get a few small ones, they will slowly but surely grow . If it gets too long, you...
I eventually want to get a 72"x36"x30" tank built in the basement and everyone will end up going in there. Right now my tank is too crowded. I have 17 congos, 6 black skirts (donated to me by a friend), one huge pleco, 7 clown loach and a pair of Kribensis. I also have two not so big green...
Thanks guys for the great compliments. I can say that I've been doing this type of setup for about 10 years (this tank is now 5 years old and my old 100 gallon had this for about 5 years too) and the fish love it and water quality seems to have improved a lot.
I also dont worry about trying...
