This is what I have come up with after doing some research and looking through a few pages of that thread. I do want some blue in the water, but I don't want it entirely blue.
2 ATI Blue +
2 ATI Aquablue specials
2 ATI Actinics
Will this give me the look i am going for and provide my corals...
The hammer coral is not as dark as it once was ( starting to fade). I have tried moving it to spots where there is more light and less and nothing has seemed to help it. I have been target feeding 2-3x a week and color has started to come back.
I have a 55 gallon reef with softies and LPS. I only have a few corals at the moment, but the ones i have seem to be surviving, but I would defiantly say not thriving. Some of my corals are barely opening (GSP, zoos) and my leather opens up at night and closes once the lights come on (tried...
I know u said live rock, but if you really want to save money I would buy dry rock and just buy a couple of pieces of live rock to seed it. I bought dry rock from bulkreefsupply and was really happy with it!! I think it was only around $2.40 a pound.
I have bought live rock from...
That's interesting (Never really thought about that). I'm still going to run the four bulbs for a couple weeks just to see how things look. I will report back in a couple weeks

I broke the entire tank down. I placed all of the rock into Rubbermaid containers and did weekly water changes. I set up at 20 gallon and placed the coral into that tank so that I could remove all of the. sand. I have bought a new cleanup crew and the tank has already cycled. I'm hoping by...
No the polyps do not close when I touch it or get close to it. Thats what I thought was kind of strange about it.

My live rock has been placed in a Rubbermaid container with a powerhead and heater and is in complete darkness. I'm planning on doing weekly water changes to it. I understand that this will recharge my live rock and will make it like new (its a long process though)
Well i have decided to tear down my tank and start over. I have had the current tank running for about 6 years and have decided that its time to restart and do it right this time. For the first tank I just had went and bought play sand from a home improvemnt store and as it looked really good...
I took most of the rock out 2 weeks ago and really scrubbed them with a tooth brush. Didn't seem to work very well. Is there a better way or something else I should be using to scrub them??
