I have 4 discus fish for about a year now. Their color isn't very "colorful" most commonly when the lights are on. They have stayed about 3.5 inches long since I received them. When the light turn on they usually scatter around in the back bottom of the tank. Is there something wrong?
I just recieved my discus shipment today. So i'm wondering if i should put the discus in an isolated bare bottom tank for now then into my 55gal or straight into the 55gal?
have 4, 2-3 inches each.
For root tabs I found out that is breaks down into powder REALLY fast. is the powder suppose to be always under the substrate, or mix in with the water?
Yesterday I got a good looking piece of clean driftwood, had to do some adjustments and cut off a branch but i think it looks even better now. Also got a few albino corys to inhabit the tank first. The amazon swords are turning out amazing, probably going to try the root tabs that I heard work...
Finally got my might fixture it has 3 light tubes, about 100 watt total. I also got some amazon sword. 2 of them are in alright conditions the other 2 needs rescuing. If there are any suggestion go ahead and comment. Soon going to put some driftwood in it and stock it with the reg: tetra...
Finally the cycling got done and I added some more water to the tank to give it a better look. Also the amazing canister filter i got. Its my first, Rena xp3, my water is so freaking clear!!!! hopefully the thing about canisters leaking wont happen to mine cause that will suck. Glad the filter...
Thanks everyone on the comments about the tank and stand! Yea, the flash from the camera gave it a holy look. Finally got the substrate into it, took 3 20lb bags. Also got a new canister filter for it to start cycling and clean up the water first.
