We have one that started out all white except for a few dark speckles. The speckles grew and he became entirely black we thought. Where he was in my son's room the lighting was mostly from above and behind. A friend pet sat him and when I picked him up, lit from the front, I realized he was a...
I just went through this with our fridge/freezer a couple weeks ago. Ended up throwing out half the contents. :( However, ours was out for almost a week. We transferred stuff to a mini-fridge and ice chests as soon as we could and threw out anything we had doubts about. We were already to the...

My vote is keep the fridge and freezer shut as much as possible and stuff in the freezer will probably be fine. It's only a couple of days. Assuming your freezer was pretty full...
Yeah, me, too.
My list is pretty boring compared to the others. Anything that won't be happy in a 55 as that's my size limit. I like oscars, but one would be pretty crowded in a 55 and I'd be uncomfortable feeding big feeders even though my tanks with livebearers have tetras as fry pickers.
Higher temps=more females, lower temps=more males. I did read from one poster who was very knowledgeable about endlers that temp controls survival rate, not birth rate.
I haven't had nerites, but I like apple snails. They are not hermaphroditic and even if you have 1 or more of both genders, they lay their eggs up above the water line (the regular kind of apple snails commonly found in pet stores--spixi snails are a less common variety that lay their eggs below...
I've only ordered non-live stuff (filters, Amquel Plus, food, etc.) and was very happy with their customer service. When I ordered a gallon of Amquel and it was cold, they included a heat pack for free, just in case.
Very cheerful, active fish! I think they'd be especially good in a dorm tank--many dorms have a 10 gallon limit, which WCM would be okay with, and they're pretty easy care.
I bought mine as feeder fish. An LFS got them in instead of feeder guppies once and had them 12 for $1.28 (about what one...
I love rosy barbs and odessa barbs, but wanted something brighter colored for this tank. Swordtails and platies can have all the color of a goldfish (which I love), but they're much cleaner and a better size for my tanks.
In my 55, I currently have 8 Buenos Aires tetras, 6 young 2 inch BN plecos, and some feeder guppies. Some of the plecos will eventually go to other tanks. The feeder guppies can go elsewhere, too. I've had 6 of the tetras in with the feeder guppies for over a month and just added the last 2...
In addition to how far will they go, I think you need to look at how often, how much will they spend, and what features in a pet store are most important to them.
The most important features to me are clean, healthy, and consistently carry our regularly purchased items. We don't buy many trendy...
My hubby is pretty easy going about my MTS as long as I keep it under control both financially and in terms of amount of time to maintain them.
Early on I did ask what kinds of fish he would like and his only request was neon tetras, which we have had ever since. When we discovered his now 15...
