thats not a jack dempsey, its a geophagus. make sure you know what you're buying before you buy it next time. they are a lot more sensitive than jack depseys. good luck with cycling

blythii are super rare and they are true Fresh water archers. don't add salt. Keep the top covered (obviosly) and feed them meaty foods that stay on the surface. they aren't agressive as far as i know, but best kept in a species tank or with fish that fish that wont bother them and won't fit in...
