Should I be concerned about my swords and platies or is it not a big deal? I just have a community tank for my enjoyment. Any babies I plan to give away to other hobbyists.

Is it possible for platies and swordtails to interbreed? I'm wondering if I should keep them in separate tanks. Also, what about gambusia and guppies?

I had an outside pond and that's exactly what happened to me. It broke my heart. Now I just have outdoor tubs I bring in during the winter. I don't believe netting will keep the raccoons out. They are pretty tough and strong critters. I don't know how you can keep them out.

Thank you very much for the information. I certainly don't expect all the babies to live as I think I would have over a hundred! I would be happy to see a few babies grow. I suspect they will be awfully cute. I am going to try to ID the crays I have. Thanks again.
