Hey guys! A couple people had been asking about the construction of my vivarium so I thought I'd post a brief build thread. Hope this helps some of you all who were asking :)
i get those in my oscar tank. They are kind of like a microscopic cleanup crew for your tank. It usually means that you need more water changes because the only reason they emerge from the gravel is to get to cleaner water. So do try a water change and watch if they clear up. Algae scrapers get...
Well here are the things that I know. I've succesfully kept ferns in high humidity, in fact mine are sprouting new fiddleheads at the moment. I've heard mixed reviews about the African Violets, some say the leaves shouldn't get moisture on them and others say they do just fine.
Soil mixture...
Looks excellent!! Do you ever have a problem with the soil being too wet for the plants to thrive? I feel like the soil in my current viv is over saturated so I worry about some of the roots starting to rot.
Well, I'm not sure at the moment. i was thinking FBTs or something small like that. I've had them before and they are just so much fun lol. I'd like the European yellow varietion though
Hey guys! i just finished the build on my new vivarium and I thought I'd post some pics to see what you guys think. :)
I used 3 inch PVC to create the false bottom along with egg crate. I placed screen over the egg crate and then a layer of gravel, along with another layer of screening...
Well I'm actually unsure about any animals at the moment. Maybe some green tree frogs or Firebelly toads, not together of course, just either/or. I've got another viv with a dumpy tree frog that I just love lol. Thanks for the Website!
Hello my fellow aquarium/vivarium people, long time no post haha. It's been quite awhile since I've updated everybody or posted a question. Today I need all your help once again.
I'm planning on a 30-40 gallon long vivarium with a false bottom constructed using pvc piping, fiberglass mesh...
So I think my oscar fish deserves somewhere more like home so I'm going to attmept to re-scape and convert his tank to black water. I've added driftwood, and replaced the carbon in the filters with sphagnum peat moss and I was going to find some kind of leaf litter for the bottom. Any ideas?
Okay, last december as some of you know, I decided to create my first vivarium for my dumpy tree frog, Jeff. All the plants have grown so much and everything looks pretty nice, if i do say so myself :) Enjoy!
1st Pic-This is a pic of the original 20 gallon tall tank, fake plants and eco-earth...
Ok this is a pic of a flower growing out of some marsh grass/tall grass in Hilton Head, SC. I would love to know what it is. It has no leaves, and one flower per stalk. There are six leaves but three that have one black spot surrounded by smaller orange spots.
Hey guys! As some of you know I recently created a new 20 gallon high viv for my dumpy, Jefferey. This will be the post where I'll keep you guys updated about plants, etc in the future! You can also post your ideas for any improvements I can make to better Jeffereys home.
I might have some...
