i wouldnt stop shopping there as long as the shop is run well and keeps healthy stock... i might have a private word with the owner or manager about it tho and let him know how you feel about it... nicely of course
no snails in any of my planted tanks. running for 2 yrs now. i buy all my plants from members of the forums who tell me if they have snails and i do a 20% bleach dip on those
I'm with debbi on this one i always do mine in the sink..I do have great water here in my little town in SC. But i've done the same in several other states.
since most of you BB are in the filter it wont hurt ya much to change the gravel to sand.. you may or may not get a small spike but nothing a good water change cant handle
most woods arent going to affect your water enough to worry about. if you need to maintain a higher ph put some crushed coral in the tank it will raise the hardness and the ph of the water
i have 2 heavy planted tanks that never get vacumed. my 100 gets a minor vacuming since i can get to most of it without disturbing the few plants in it. its about to get torn down tho, i'm going to replace the sand with some really nice river sand/gravel
i've built a 55 gallon glass tank. the only tip i can give is make sure to seal the seams well. it lasted a few years, but got bumped and the side panel cracked and flooded my apt..lol that was a fun day...........not
pickup only threads, except for tanks shouldnt even be posted here its just a tease for the rest of us.. if your not willing to ship put it on craiglist
