bio wheels are prone to this issue. i run my emperor 400 filters with out the bio wheels.

thats how my pads look in my wet dry filters i change out weekly. now if someone could develop fish that dont poop pee or eat and dont die........ahh just a dream :)

the size of your return pump depends on the flow rate of your over flows. say your over flows drained 1000 gallons per hour you sure wouldnt use a return pump doing 1500 gallons per hour or else a flood will happen.

doesnt seem like it would be stable for that much weight.

goldies are cold water fish plecos are tropical its not a good idea to mix the 2, and some pleco will attack and suck the slime off you goldies and do damage i have seen this more than once so beware of what may happen.

ONLY DRAW BACK IS: internal filters are messy to remove and clean I would go with a small hang on back type walmart even sells them pretty cheap and for a 10G they would be great.
