Thanks! :D
Update on the drip system: It's going great! Wow it feels good to do a 70% water change a week on the 300 gallon tank without lifting a finger
I don't use either, play sand is too fine for higher turn over rates I use on my tanks. PFS is cheap but don't care for the quality in color.
I use this, Lapis Lustre #1C. It is a media plasting sand eith excellent color, smooth enough for earth eaters and soft belly species and is heavy...
I will be doing a build thread yes. I generally do build threads on MFK, I'm a staffer over there, I am not on here as often (I know, shame on me). I will make sure I do write something up for the AC crew though I promise ;) I just finished the drip system on the 300 gallon Wednesday. No more...
Thank you Maribeth! I do sell fry (more like give them to hobbiests) but try not to flood the market with them. The thing is is that this species needs massive tanks in order to thrive. This pair is in a 300 gallon and they are getting upgrading to a 600 gallon this year since they are...
You like that huh? One guess why they got those names.. :bowing:
Thanks Jon! :D
Thanks Adam! :D I still miss seeing pics of your old jag. Any plans for another Parachromis in the future?
Thanks Rich! :D
Thanks Bonnie! :D
Thanks Seth! They dig like CRAZY.. The bottom of the...
Thank you! :D
Thanks! I will work on getting a few more pics taken and posted. I appreciate the kind words!
Thank you Risigan! This pair will need a bigger tank during the next year but they are happy with a 300 gallon for now.
This is Ike and Tina's 8th spawn. I'm trying to get some practice with a new camera. This is shot is flash off, manual focus 18-105mm / F3.5.
The male is somwhere between 14"-16" and the female is around 7"-8". All of the fry in around them are about 1/4". They are my favorite pair :D
Unfortunatly since I cannot confirm collection lineage I won't be getting him a mate. The midas/red devil complex has been around for so many years in the hobby the odds of him being mixed with something else is there unless I could prove otherwise, which I can't. I don't believe in putting...
I have a 12 gallon at my office but other than that and fry tanks the 120 is my smallest tank at home. I keep only big tanks and big cichlids. I really miss the days of having smaller more manageable tank to be honest. Water change day at my house is no less than 4-5 hours. A midas is probably...
Thanks Johnathan! Microgeophagus ramirezi is a great species, I've spawned hundreds, such a neat species to work with. I've never worked with long long fin variant though.
Thanks very much!
Thanks Seth! Sorry to hear about you big guy. Any pics? No worries on derail I would LOVE to see him. Sorry about the loss :( 11 years is no small accomplishment so well done my friend!
Thanks! :D
Thanks! He is no flowerhorn, I don't care for them either :yuck: he is...
