Carib Sea African Cichlid Mix (Sahara Sand)

I probably should clear up my first post a bit. Premium branded aquarium specific substrates may have some value when used to address water quality. My post reflects the fact that I keep over 100 tanks....... Therefore, the use of premium substrates at their MUCH higher price would be...

Carib Sea African Cichlid Mix (Sahara Sand)

Sand makes a great substrate. Personally though, I'd never used sand bagged for the aquarium trade as it's too costly. I'm using both pool filter sand (it's light in color) and play sand (requires more rinsing because of the clay content). The fish don't know the difference !!! PFS is around...

What do you do after breeding you Cichlids?

While Aquaria Central is an excellent forum, you might want to try reading "*******************". It's a very active forum with most members operating in your general vicinity. Get an idea of fish that are in demand, what fish are available, and which ones you would like........ Then fill the...

    Doin' the "deed"...............

When I first read this, I was almost insulted.... PLEASE note that I said ALMOST........ NO, that is not ich on the fish........ it is merely sand in the water column that has been stirred up by all the shaking/quivering action associated with "doin' the deed"....... The fish are all in...

    Doin' the "deed"...............

Thanks Pitt..... I've got a colony of 19 in a 125g (a little small for my liking, the colony, not the tank)....... but the ratio is 2M/17F. Fry #s have improved since removing 2 synodontis cats (4-5") leaving the Tropheus the only residents in the tank.
