I am running a six bulb t5 ho light fixture over a 24"x24"x24" 60 gallon cube with pressurized co2 is this overkill or not.
Bulbs are three 10,000K and three 6500K 24Watts per bulb
Lights are one of the most important items on a planted tank. If your lights are that old you need to replace them. I would start with a quality light sorce with the correct bulbs for plants I think all pet stores carry light fixtures for planted tanks by now.
The tubing on a 305 is 5/8 and the tubing on a FX5 is 1 inch. It is not a good idea to try to run an fx5 on 5/8 tube, the smaller hose will restrict the filter to the point of overheating.

I had the same problem with my dual overflow and my local pet store told me to remove all 90 degree fitting and to never go over 45. They also said by using ribbed hose that is sold with the over flow I would move more water due to less restriction in the pvc fitting. I took their advise and...

I payed 11.00 each. Thought they were cool enough for 11 bucks. And they eat brine with some serious gusto thats what the store is feeding them.
