Thank you for the info. I was planning on letting the shrimp get to their full length before getting the spiny eels. Is a forty gal. long going to be enough space for a few of the eels or should I only get one?

Can you keep zig zag spiny eels with singapore flower shrimp? The zig zags get 3-7" and the shrimp 3-4". It would be in a 40 gal. planted and with lots of hiding spaces.

Actually I do have plans for a bigger aquarium for him and some of the others. I want it to be a 120 gal. but I also have a 40 that's waiting to be repaired. This is just for now until I move. So far there hasn't been any problems with the shark, it just hangs out on one side in this driftwood...

I was thinking about 'stuffing my filter with peat'. I would like to have softer water and I like the brown water. My hard is pretty hard, around or above 8 ph. Just hard water here. But my fish are doing fine so I'm not sure I should mess with it. Probably shouldn't, but all my fish are soft...

The black flourite is bigger than sand, around the size of smaller gravel. Say... 4 mm or so... I defiantly recommend the flourite. I never add fertilizer and my plants grow beautifully. But a layer of laterite on the bottom is helpful because it releases the nutrients and minerals slower. You...
