No matter wat u choose over filtration is recommended. Just add a extra filter to handle watever u decide. Also it gives u a better chance to overstock n pick thru ur likings.
Dont worry just keep up on ur WC n all is well. I had to leave my tanks alone for 3 wks due to a accident. N came back to over 100 ppm n my fish were great. Jus keep them healthy n happy.
With ur jewel, u can do alot but make sure to add 2 or less at a time to build up ur bioload. As for tankmates hav fun n select wat u like. Most jewels r very laid back and accommodate other mates. So jist feel out wat u like n go for it. But get juvies to grow them out. Ur tank has a better chance

Yea like the other Guy I would try to locate a local breeder if possible but if u do decide to go with them them figure what is your lost factor just in case o disaster
