I got a 1.66 hexagon gallon tank with 2 baby dwarf frogs and two ghost shrimp. Is that too small? I'm going to upgrade to a ten gallon in like two months. I can get a plain glass tank for $10 in one week, but is that good for the frogs?
I am planning on getting a starter tank that comes with a filter and stuff but thats 3 times the price and i'm like 14 so i have limited money. Also i have two feeder goldfish that i got when i was way young. One is like 5 years old and the other one is 3 years old. My mom didnt know anything about ph levels and unsafe tap water so they were living in just what ever came out of our sink. Plus we have very hard water. I live in alaska. They have been doing good. Well except for the old one it's pale white and losing it's scales. Why did it turn white? Also i'm going to get a job this summer so should i wait till then? My ghost shrimp and frogs have been fighting over food. One of my frogs is a light color and the other one is dark. Is that ok?

I'll be honest, I've never kept either but that is a really small tank for anything really! Use a search engine, or even old posts on here to learn more about what you have. A bigger tank is always better! Plus they are easier to care for the bigger they are. To save some money on a tank, try looking in the classified ads in local papers, sometimes you can get a good deal. Also try ebay, you can narrow the search down to your local area.

Are you saying you have goldfish in a 1.66 gallon hex tank with 2 frogs? Or are the goldfish in another tank.

Get the biggest tank you can afford. I would buy a heater first then worry about the filter. Water changes every few days are cheap and will help keep the water clean until you can afford a filter for the tank. But a stable temp around 74-78F will keep the frogs much happier.

im only 14 so im on a limited budget but 10 gallon tanks arent much money i just bought a 10 gallon tank with a heater and a sponge filter for 25 dollars.

Tank size

I got a tank that looks like 2 gallons for the gold fish their like 6 inches. It costs $35 to get a 10 gallon starter tanks with under gravel filter. Then i got to buy rocks. so like $45 dollars. I got like $20 right now. One of my ghost shrimps antana things are missing.

have we met before?

You have 2 6 inch goldfish in a 2 gallon tank? That seems rather hard to picture but if it is true then I would highly suggest seeing if a fish store will take those off of your hand. That is rather cruel to keep them in something so small.

I would suspect that the frogs and shrimp would be ok till you can get a filter if you put them in the tank you can get gravel at the lawn and garden center that would be fine. heater in mainland US is like 10 dollars, tank is 10 dollars gravel 3 dollars so you have money to spare
