Hows this for an interesting day:
07:00 - Woken by a very excited daughter - her dwarf hamster has given birth to several odd shaped bundles of skin... we had no idea she was even pregnant! Eventually managed to seperate the pair by housing the male in our hospital tank (minus water of course)
09:00 - Maid rushes in frantically... male hamster is out the tank and our Jack Russel terrier is chasing it around the house...
09:15 - hamster back in hospital tank
10:45 - Maid rushes in frantically... German Shepherd pup was playing with the Jack Russel in the lounge and knocked over a pot plant stand which then smashed through the corner of one of our 20G tanks... water and fish all over our polished wooden parquet floor...
11:45 - Finally finished mopping up the water... fish and plants safely in a bucket with heater and filter...
15:00 - Picked kids up from school and headed to LFS for a replacement tank and had to wait 20 minutes while this huge obnoxious woman picked out 6 of every fish in the store to put into her brand new 30G she had only just purchased... So I'm watching this woman and watching the poor sales guy trying to tell her about cycling first etc and she's downright rude - not listening to a word he's saying...
So eventually she gets to a tank full of large angels and wants 6 of them too so I decide I am going to try talk some sense into the woman... I had to cover my kids ears - her response would have made a sailor blush!
Couldn't help wondering how long those 6 bags of poor lil fishies are gonna last as I watched her fat a$$ heading out the door...
18:00 - After a couple of hours spent moving everything into the new tank I plug the airline into the filter and... air pump is suddenly dead... leaking water from every orifice kind of dead!
18:30 - A T-piece and a long piece of airline hose later and the filter springs back to life... oooooops! Forgot to take dinner out the freezer... PIZZA!
19:00 - Munching pizza and checking the tank stock... 1 bronze cory and 1 male guppy missing in action... *sigh*
Somewhere in between the action I managed to get a full days work done and handle some difficult clients on the telephone too... Time to put feet up and relax - I think I earned it! lol
