I've been asked a question about a ten gallon setup. My wife wants me to setup a 10 gallon tank over our breakfast bar. I realize I'm going to have to fortify the overhead structure to maintain the weight of a fully watered 10 gallong tank, that's no problem.

My question is this. Is there a readily available filtering system that I could submerge into the tank? It's going to be visible from all sides so having a filter system hanging off one side or end won't work.

Perhaps an undergravel system? Also, can I mix flourite or another substrate AND gravel? OR should I use one or the other?

Thanks for all suggestions and tips.

I'm so sorry. I put this in the wrong area. Could a mod close it or move it please?

You may think about getting an Eclipse setup. They have a bio-wheel & mini-sump in the hood. I have a System 6 that's just lovely. Needs a lot of cleaning, but I like it.

If looks are your main concern I would get an eclipse system....everything is in the hood....its very user friendly...yes you can mix flourite and gravel, but try and get gravel that s the same size as the flourite....
