2 Pearl Gourami
1 Freshwater Flounder
1 Plecostomus
2-3 Penguin Tetra(possibly)
3 Zebra Danios(if they survive)

le comment. thanks

The two gouramis are going to be too big for a 10 gal when they are full grown, the FW clam...i'm not totally sure about them, but i'm sure they need high light, much like SW clams and lots of substrait to bury into. The FW flounder needs more of a footprint on a tank than a 10 can provide. The pleco is going to grow 18+ inches. The tertas woudl be fine along with the danios. Id say get a nice school of one or the other and then possibly a small school of cories as bottom feeders. If you NEED an algae eater id go with a few otos, but if you dont need them dont get them just as a preventative...unless you like otos. If you dont over feed and dont leave your lights on for a long period of time you shouldnt have much algae anyway. I know that ALOT of people dont like the old rule of 1inch of fish per gallon, but in the terms of tetras and other small fish that stay under about 2inches you should be fine if you follow that rule.

a pleco will get WAY too big.
Flounders get rather large I believe and need brackish water? I also think they are carnivorous?
Do a google search on Flounders to find out more about them.

the thing about stunting the growth of fish by putting them in a smaller tank is that skeleton stays the same size hince being stunted, but their internal organs keep growing inside of them...ultimately leading to thier untimely and painful death

That's too many fish for a 10 gallon. Pearl gouramis need a larger tank, so they are definately out. Also, I assume you mean a common pleco, which are way too big for a ten gallon. I would also recomend you get danios OR tetras, not both. I know nothing about freshwater flounder or clams, so I will defer to someone else about those. Based on the fish you've listed, I would recommend you stock the tank like this: 1 dwarf gourami, 6 penguin tetras OR zebra danios, and 3 of a smaller variety of corydoras catfish.

I guess we could take a toddler and house him in a closet and only give him bread and water to eat. He might weigh 50 pounds on his 16th birthday, if he lives. If anyone asks we could say he is a dwarf LOL.

Why would you WANT to stunt a fish on purpose?
Crowding is one thing, but putting a pleco in a 10 gallon is not crowding.
It's cruelty.

Clown or Bristlenose pleco.
