10 gallon idea............

how many? if the ammonia is only at .25ppm how can the bacteria that fights it build up.
exactly the problem will fishy cycling. it takes a LONG time, because you have to keep the ammonia so low. I strongly reccomend you get the fish you have in thier out of there, for their sake. then it doesn't matter how high your ammonia is, and all you have to do is test once a day to see how it's progressing, and provide a source of ammonia (decaying fish food, salad shrimp, pure ammonia, ect.)

ah you may have just convinced me. But heres the problem....I got the fish at a special fish store 40 minutes away. I have petcos closer.would they take the fish.....Also, if I were to continue the cycle fishless, how much longer would it be?

most likely they will take them.
it would actually be shorter, since you don't need to keep the ammonia so low.

I still really think you can keep your shwartzs, get one more (make it 3), get 2 platys, and 1 dwarf gourami. I dont think that would overstock your tank. Shwartzs are in my opinion much more interesting than dwarf corys.

yeah.. return them, and then once it's cycled you can put int the stock he reccomended.
