Hello all!

10 Gallon Fresh Water
13lbs Gravel
Natural Slate
Natural Rocks
2 Aqua Clear Mini's
50w Heater
1 Natural Plant
2*2700k 14w CF Lights

I have not tested my water yet, and it has been cycling for one month, however I just added the rocks and slate in 2 days ago.

When I purchased my plant. I had 1 small snail and 2 baby snails. Now I have 2 small snails and 5 baby snails!!! (1 Day!!!)

In the picture, the tank looks a bit cloudy. That is because I mixed the gravel as well. But it is all clear now.

My questions are:
1) Since the snails are alive, does that mean my fish will be okay as well?
2) Do crawfish eat snails?
3) How do you like the tank?

I'm a bit confused. How can your tank be "cycling for 1 month" and yet you have not tested your water? How are you cycling? If you are fishless cycling then you should be adding a source ammonia and you cannot do that accurately without testing.

However, the tank looks very nice.

I agree it does look nice, but the flatter piece of rock on your bigger cave/hiding place/decoration IMO looks like its an accident waiting to happen, unless its siliconed together. If youre thinking of getting a crayfish, it could try to dig under the flat piece which could knock it down.

I am going to get my water tested at Big Als soon. (Before I get fish of course)

Yes, I was also concerned about the rocks falling over. I picked up 100% Silicone Clear Rubber at home depot. Will that be alright for the fish once it is dried?

I am planning on keeping 10 neon tetras and either a craw fish or some ghost shrimp to clean up the bottom areas.

a crayfish will eat the neons. ghost shrimp are cool but don't last terribly wrong. I like corydoras myself, in a 10 gallon 4 or 5 panda corys would be great with the neons.
be sure to let the silicone dry for 3 days before putting it in the tank.
do a search on the forum for pictures to further improve your aquascape, it currently looks like a african lake cichlid tank. Live plants with DIY CO2 would really really jazz up your tank with the ornaments just like you have it now. plus the fish would like the live plants a lot.
good luck
:)

i think you should lay the slate flat and stack it somehow. i dont really think it looks that good how it is (but whatever you like is all that matters) and a few more plants would make it look better also... and how are you cycling your tank? are you just letting the water sit for a month or are you adding ammonia? if you do not have a clear idea about what cycling is, there is more than likely enough info in the fresh water newbie forum on it :D well... good luck with your tank

I would buy aquarium silicone from the lfs. Some of the ones that arent made for aquariums have chemicals in them so stuff like mildew wont grow on it. Not to good for the fish.

Only if you dont feed it and the neons are sick and slow. I have a crayfish in my tank and he doesnt mess with any of the fish in there(von rio tetras, scissortail rasboras, leopard and zebra danios). Feed them shrimp pellets and they will be happy. Also you might want some more support for those rock like everyone else says. I took a flat piece and set it on 3 rocks to make a 3 way cave. Its rather generic looking but it works. Also if you want a crayfish I dont recommend anything else in there but neons or other small fish and at most 6 of them. Crayfish get rather large for a 10 gallon. Good luck and have fun!!!
