whats the difference between a 12inch sub and a 10inch sub. they seem to have the same specs. just a different size.

a 12 will make more external vibrations and theoretically go louder since it is larger. a larger speaker displaces more air volume when it moves, so is louder.

a 10 will be more precise though in that it has a smaller surface area, so adjustments will be easier...then again that is theoretically.

couldnt of said it better

For sub woofers, the smaller the cone the tighter the bass response. i.e. A 15" sub can hit lower notes than a 10"

so does a 12inch produce more bump and better sound than a 10?

12 has more bump, 10 better sound. I personally dont like huge subs, since after you go so loud, you are just making it louder so everyone else can hear you. You dont need to be heard 5 miles away. Especially since I listen to all types of music, heavy metal double bass sounds great on 10's or even 8's, but 12's or bigger don't return fast enough and end up skipping notes.

i like rock as well. i listen to it more than rap but i want to feel the bump. will is still feel lots of bump with 10s?

10 for the win!!!

if you want everyone on your native planet to hear you simultaneously and clear sound a 10 is the only way to go. for a 10 that will do that it's biiiiig $$$$ though. regardless 10's are much cleaner sound wise in most cases. i'd pay the extra $50 or MUCH MORE for a quality 10 long before thinking of putting a cheaper 12 in my system every day of the week.

one of my friends has 2 10inch kicker CVRs and my my other friend has a 12ich kicker CVR. and the 10 doesnt seem to have as much sound. i havnt really got to compare them or listen to the 10s as much.
