10 or 12 inch subwoofer

would it be ok to have a 10 and a 12?

no it isnt ok to have both they will cancel each other out. either get a 10 or a 12 you will be happy with either! and you can make either sound the way you want it by the enclosure you house it in and by tuning!

guess its 10s than! ill listen to my friends again to make sure its what i want.

you could always check out kickers square 10's too as another option.

I have one L7 12 in the cab of my sonoma and it's more than enough. I had two standard 10's prior to that and they were plenty too. I guess it's all relative. Are you going for quantity (everyone and their mother can hear/feel you coming), or quality (sounds well tuned in the immediate listening area)? IMO the latter is the better option. I laugh when cars rattle by.

Another thing that most people overlook is the box. That's just as important as the sub you choose. Pay attention to cubic feet requirements or else you'll be starving your sub from the required air space it needs to perform. There's no point in having a top of the line sub if you accompany it with cheap or inadequate counterparts.

Good luck with your decision, and don't be hasty just because of the excitement.

You know how it goes to MOST guys in Florida "If it rattles then its LOUD" ...they dont know any better:huh: my daily driver has 1500watts of sub power and 4 12's and ZERO rattles

And you couldnt be anymore try about the giving a speaker the right enclosure you can make a cheap subs sound like they worth 10x what they are worth

This isnt true. It is perfectly fine to have a 12 and a 10 inch sub as long as their enclosures are built properly.

What makes you think they will cancel each other out?
