I have a 3 1/2 month old fry that I think is a balloon belly; about a 1 1/4" long. Now that I have her in a 10 gallon, I want to get her some friends. Keep in mind that she's still pretty tiny, so at least for a while I want to get some fish that are similar in size. I'm thinking some of the dwarf coral platies or these fish I just saw tonight called Orange Flame Rio Tetras. I eventually will want to add another balloon belly, but when she's bigger. For now, how many of the smaller fish should I add? Suggestions? Thanks!

Hi,
I think it would be great to add five Pygmy Cories to your tank. They gorw to a little less then a inch and are very peaceful. They love to be in groups.
You could also get six Neon Tetras.

That looks pretty good. But only get two or three Platies, because if you get more you'll be a little overstocked.

IMO, you should get three regular platies instead of dwarf ones so they can compete for food better. mollies are very varacious eaters and are pretty greedy, balloon or not. platies in general are pretty peaceful but they get their fair share with other fish, but sometimes they arent fast enough, and dwarf platies will just get pushed around by the mollies because they are so small.dewilde2 said:

So I've been looking around a lot, and I have fallen in love with rams- both the german blue and the golden. They don't have any around here that I've seen (central IL or St. Louis area), so I'd have to get one online....anyway, by any chance would a ram work with my balloon belly and perhaps one other?
