10G What should i do????

When you put the bettas in the larger tank, they are probably hiding b/c of the other fish, not the size of the tank. I have a betta in a 55g community and he is always swimming around checking things out. I do have alot of places for him to hide if need be. I think the betta tank is a good idea.

Betas betas betas.....blah! I'm bored already. Come on people. This forum can't generate a stocking list for a 10g thank that doesn't include betas? You wanna keep betas, I'll send you an unopened box of mason jars. You can keep 12. You wanna keep fish? Lets talk.

If you've never kept a sand tank, that's a start. If you've never kept cichlids, look into it. If you've never kept a single species (preferably a cichlid) by itself in a species tank, try that. Think biotope. Try to replicate a slice of habitat, and stock it lightly with biotope appropriate fish. It will be different! It will be interesting! It will be like no betta bowl you've ever owned. :D

Disclaimer: The above rant against betas should in no way be taken seriously (keep betas if you want, that just means more cichlids for the rest of us)

**** you mooman! your irrational hatred of bettas has driven me to sociopathic tendencies and spill my coffee! :joke:

so seriously though I liked what mooman was saying. I thought bettas for my 10g when I first bought it, but over time I've been leaning more towards a species tank like dwarf gouramis (also kinda cliche) or killies or maybe a couple dwarf puffers (you know the ones that are actually FW and stay real small ;) ).

We arent saying to buy new bettas for the tank. We are saying they should make more room for the bettas they already have that are in crazy small containers. Why get more fish, when you have some that could really use the space? These are the bettas we are talking about

The first one that shows the whole bowl, the bowl doesnt even look to be a gallon! They should AT LEAST have a gallon tank IMO.

i;m sorry but those bettas are WAY too cramped in those tiny containers!

you really should put some of them inthe 10 with dividers- it's cruelty to keep them in those little cups

I was thinking dividing into 5, but some of my bettas hate to be in a big amount of space, i try to switch them out into my 25G but most of them get really slow, and hide.
10/5 is 2 Gallons for each betta. If you consider that "big amount of space" you should try these http://www.nhm.ac.uk/about-us/news/2006/jan/news_7501.html

..Poor Bettas.. Those containers look like the ones at my LFS :(

Well no i dont consider it a big amount of space, but my bettas seem to, they become very unsure, and hide in the corner.
