Total for all of the Equipment - $1021,61
I will be setting up the FX5 media as followed:
Top Tray - Foam and Fluval Pre-Filter
Middle Tray - Foam and Fluval BioMax
Bottom Tray - Foam and Fluval BioMax
The tank was cycled using a established filter. After the cycle was completed, I added 6 tiger barbs as my original idea for stocking was:
5x Bala Sharks
8x Roseline Sharks
20x Tiger Barb
2x Bristlenose Pleco
As for the livestock, this is where I need help. So I have been researching columbian sharks. I have been getting mixed opinions on how to care for them. Some say that you should slowly acclimated them to saltwater and others say they should always be brackish but some even say they should always be freshwater. I think they look like awesome fish and from my research, I believe my 120 gallon tank will be able to house them. My problem is that i know canister filters are the worst filters for saltwater. I already have the FX5 setup and running and have no way of returning it. Also I would have to hopefully, if possible, return the tiger barbs for a refund. I would really like to hear what you guys think I should do. All advice and feedback is greatly appreciated, thanks!
