So i got a new tank and i am using 2 fluval 306 filter from the old established tank. Tank has been running empty for a couple of days after i added 2 mollies, 1 knife fish and 2 silver dollars. My question is do i need to cycle my tank?

Absolutely. And it WILL cycle, regardless on if you're doing it intentionally or not, it's part of the "life" of a tank. Having established media in the filter will help it along quite a bit though. I would think that with the pre-loaded media, and that level, you're ok for now for a "safe" fishy cycle, but watch your parameters and make sure to monitor with a slow build.

That's true...

Are my fish safe in the new tank

Yes, as long as you do the following:

-Buy a good liquid test kit (such a the API master test kit)
-Monitor the parameters (mainly ammonia, nitrite and nitrate are concerns for you during this period)
-Do a water change if ammonia or nitrite is present, and if nitrate becomes too high, to maintain a safe environment for the fish while the tank has a 'mini-cycle'

I would be very careful feeding too as you don't want to overload the system. I may be going much too over-the-top here considering that you have added two established filters, but it is better to be safe than sorry. Not only that, but I have experienced my own tanks go into mini-cycles when I have changed gravel and rocks, etc; you want bacteria to build on tank surfaces too.

Good luck.

What was the bio load in the old tank the filters came from....if it is the same stocking you listed and those filters were on that old tank with that bio load....your tank is already cycled to handle it completely. BB will grow and attach to the new surfaces, but you won't have any issues.

Yes the fish are the same and the filters are the same and also driftwood and decos are the same
