if i got a 125 gallon tank, would a jag and a midas be able to stay together in it. Those are my 2 fave cichlids and it would be cool if i could. also, could my jack dempsey be able to live in that tank with the jag and midas if they were the only fish in the tank?i plan on introducing them all together at 1 inch juveniles thanks for replies

Sure, especially if they are together at a young age...

As long as each keep their own side of the tank, then they'll be fine.;)

a midas and a jag is not a good idea in a 125. you could get away with it for a while but once they start to mature you will have big problems. midas and jags both stake out very large territories extending beyond the limits of the tank. the jd would have his ass handed to him very early on. if you really want both fish they would coexist in a 125 with a divider minus the jd. large bi weekly water changes would be a must once each fish reaches max size. and the jag when full grown would be very cramped in 1/2 of a 125. 180 with a divider would be a much better suited tank for that situation imho. hope this helps.

yea a jag and a midas is never a good idea unless you have a huge tank. maybe jag and JD in 125g, but then JD maybe killed.

thanks for the replys? the dempsey is still a juvie (about 2 inches). I planned to introduce them as juveniles, but maybe not.
