125or150g new cichlids

Ok im scartching the whole Jag and more predatory thing sorry if this frustrates you im just trying to get an idea of what I will be getting to make sure I get the right things(ive never had a tank anywhere around this size) im gonna go with the less agressive fish such as the GT now i was looking at that site and it would take me for ever to look up all those fish so could you give me and names of fish that you would like to have or maybe you could give me a good stocking list for a 150.

I keep my GT with Carpintis. Of course, eventually, my Carpintis need their own tank when they are fully grown.

If you want less aggressive cichlids, you can always try any of the Archocentrus species (except for convict). Convict is more aggressive than any of the Archocentrus I've kept, IME. Or you can try Thorichthys groups. These 2 species don't get as big as GT. With that size tank (assume you are getting 125g tank), you can keep more than 6 cichlids Archocentrus or Thorichtys.

Or you can try Severums. They max out around 6-8". Jeff Rapps right now has the True Severus, delayed mouth brooder. And severums are colorful. I have a few myself. My red-head severum is the most outstanding one. Of course, if I get others, they are probably more beautiful than my current red-head.

If you still wanna keep your GT, I'll say...give the Carpintis a try. You will like that fish. It is very colorful. Click on the pix that said Herichthys Carpintis 'Escondido' to see for yourself. And you can add either Salvini (shy but can be pretty aggressive...can hold his own ground) and Jack Dempsey.

Or you can try Gymnogeophagus or Geophagus species. I have a few. Mine aren't that aggressive, but there are some can become bullies.

Copora Nicaraguense is beautiful and mild temperament, from what I heard. You can add this fish with Severums.

The Herichthys Carpintis 'Escondido' are very pretty I think i would like to get 2 of those and i have decides to get a 150gallon so i was reading and one place said they get 7inches and the other said 10 which ones true also would any of the geophagus mix with them cause i saw sum really pretty ones like the geophagus iporangensis and the geophagus itapicurensis.

If they wont mix ill go back and do some more research on sme other ones to see what you think and one last thing with the 2 carpintis in there how much other fish coul di fit in there saying all the fish were around 6-8 inches?

Carpintis can get as big as 10" if you feed the fish the right food and live in good environment.

Are you planning to keep GT in the tank?

I don't think geophagus can mix well with these cichlids you wanted.

Possibly 4 more cichlids you can fit in the 150g tank.

ok so you want somethign that is going to be pretty peaceful but with larger fish.

look at the (something) neetroplus, heros severum, archocentrus genus (other than the convicts), thoricthys are good they are varients of the firemouth and can be very beautiful. there is one in particular that I like but cant remeber the name of.

a selection of those would go well together and they dont get to large so you could have more.

geophagus types could also go with most of those types.

nearly all these top out at about 8inches or less.

I know you want parachromis (jaguar etc) types but they are extremely aggresive fish.

if you wanted to go with them then a 200gallon would be good and you get them as young as possible but you could only have one or two. and then you through in a bunch of dithers like a shoal of silver dollars or convicts or something.

just expect them to get massacred.
