12ft wall stand

DQ - the false wall separating my tank room from the pool room has such. Currently it is 10' long, just over 6' high. Shots are visible at:

From the front 7 tanks are visible (3 x 40-longs, 3 x 30-longs, 1 20-high) , from the rear 10.

This has had several configurations depending on the tanks used. The structure is very simple: concrete blocks and beams so that it can be reconfigured as my needs/desires shift.

I am looking for more of a cabinet that will be in the living room and that I can put all of my stuff into and can lock the kids out of. No cinder blocks allowed, sorry RTR.

We are empty nesters (hooray!), so that is no issue for me. Mine is set for flexiblity as I do get bored. The original plan was to mask the front with a false wall, but my cabinetmaker convinced me (he has known me for years) that I was going to be spending at least several hundred to a few K bucks every few years and wasting his time to boot. He was right.

The living room has only one tank.

I apologize for being off topic but you've mentioned several times (that I know of RTR) keeping low/med-light plants. Maybe if you went high light...you wouldn't get so easily bored?

As for the cabinet, construct it as you would any other stand. Obviously you'll need to have seems if you use plywood to "face" it. Design it so the trim (used to cover the seems) is decorative and evenly spaced (along with the doors) and it can look really nice. If you're not into that, look into tongue and groove materials or even wainscoting.

LOL! I've done high light plant tanks, shut all that down. Pruning stem plants is not and never has been my idea of fun. I do not do plant tanks, I do planted fish fish tanks. When you have been in the hobby as long as I have and operated as many tanks as I have, boredom and burnout is always a possibility.
