I have been looking at the 12G Nano Cubes, are the deluxe ones that much better? we were going to get the basic one and upgrade the light, but have now just decided to order one of the deluxe ones. We can get it online for $149.99 or from the LFS for $210. Is it worth it to go for the deluxe?

Do you plan on keeping Corals in there. If you are doing fish only, or FOWLR, its not as important, if you plan on keeping Corals, then spend the extra money.

deluxe has twice the lighting, could make a significant difference depending on what you want to keep in the tank.

Keeping a small tank is harder than keeping a big one, Maby you should just get a bitg tank, like a 30G or bigger.

nano cube

My brother got the DX with 48w of pc.He didnt like the 10k bulb so he put in a 50/50.Easier to turn a light off than to go buy a retro kit for 30-40 bucks. But the cube looks great with the actinic and a 50/50.

Is that a clam in 48watts of pc?

I am planning on a reef tank with just some simple easier corals. So I guess the deluxe it is!

I am so confused, but I thought the bulbs it came with were 50/50 that is why they are blue and white right?

The standard nano does. But the deluxe has two seperate bulbs, so instead of using two 50/50 bulbs, they just used on actinic and one 10K.
