Well... I was going to get a pair of apistogramma ramirezi for my 15.. but the only kind they've got is German Blue Rams. They'll work instead right? With this plan?

2x GBRs
6x Lemon Tetras
3x Cories

What biotope do they come from? I was going to do an Amazon Acid Pool originally.
 
Is it a 15 tall or a 15 wide? That will make a difference.

If the rams breed, the cories might take a little bit of the agression....

Also, if I were getting fish to go with rams, I would try to stock the top of the tank (thinking Harlequin Raspora's) rather then the lemon tetras, but that's just me.
 
"German Blue Rams" are Apistogramma ramirezi although they've been in the genus Microgeophagus (or Papiliochromis, depending on who you believe) for decades. The three names are therefore synonyms.
 
Thanks everyone! I got them (male and female) and they're just gorgeous! Their bag is floating as I type. Should I feed them special cichlid food (pellets)? If so I can run out an get it now.
 
?? (also.. my female's just hanging out at the top looking freaked.. is she just adjusting to her environment?)

If you are thinking to set an Amazon biotope, the combination of rams, lemon tetras and corydoras is really cool. Harlequin rasboras are beautiful schooling fishes but they are from southeast Asia. If you like a tetra species as peaceful as lemons but more active and that will swim more in the upper part of the tank, consider the bloodfin tetras (pretty tight schoolers). Your numbers sound perfect to me: 2 rams, 6 tetras and 3 cories. For food, I think you can use these for your tetras and rams: NLS small fish pellets and a good quality community flakes(like Omega One or Ocean Nutrition). For the cories use something like TetraMin tablets, that are special for bottom dwellers (rams will eat them also).

Try not to worry to much if the new fish seems somewhat freaked out. She or he has been through a lot when you think about it. From the breeder to the store then being bagged again before finally being added to your aquarium. She doesn't know where she is. Just give her some time to adjust and she should do just fine.
