1gallon gourami

Is it safe to keep 1 singe gourami in a 1gallon tank It has its own filter and aponogetons growing around the edges.

those gouramis grow to be around 4", os id say for a little while until he gets bigger

ok, I am currently cycling a 10gallon tank just for him and he is in there temporarily until it is done cycling.

No not at all. That looks like a three spot so it can get to about 6" not 4" like jm1212 said. There have been many posts on here about small tank stocking, do a search and see what the other posts have concluded. If it was my tank i would keep it planted and get some shrimp for the tank.

Yeah he is a three spot. It had 4 ghostshrimp in it that lived there for several months but I accidentaly cleaned the filter with tap water that wasnt treated and they all died. Dont worry now though as I have already bought a new filter and rinsed it with water from its own tank.

try to get it out as fast as possible. its kinda small for them. there are products that speeds up the tank cycle. i cant remember the name maybe someone will come and remind me.
