Well, I have one for My iguana cage and keep a piece of plastic over it and then a piece of covering. You could do the same. place it in a large ziplock bag and then a nice piece of decorative cloth over that, under the bowl.Shawna said:Now THAT is an idea i never thought of!! I'll look into that. It doesnt hurt them if they get wet??
janderson said:in my betta's 2G tank under the gravel - and it's dangerous! It doesn't shut itself off but heats continuously, so on day 2 (day before yesterday) I found the temp to be 88 degrees :mad2: ! Luckily, the poor fish seems to have survived unscathed. Now I'm looking for a replacement heater and in the meantime I keep unplugging and re-plugging the aforementioned piece of junk to keep the temp somewhat stable around 78.
yeah those are not to bad, meaning i have never had a problem with them. I use them on a few of my tanks. But for bowl, i like the heating pad idea, that way you can not see the heater, and use some pretty cloth to hide it.Emg said:You can get smaller "Jr Heaters" at walmart for about 7$. They are made for tanks from 2-5 1/2 gallon tanks. You can't set them to the temp you like...so a thermometer is a must.
