Hello, I am stocking another tank and this one is a 20 gallon long. The main idea of this tank is to have shrimp (ghost or cherry red) and to try and raise them if they breed. I would think it would be a waste of a tank to just have shrimp, so what else would you suggest to put in there? Thanx

Your bad!!!! I was under the impression it was difficult to breed shrimp. My platys and perl gourami, and swordtail didn't bother the shrimp at all (when I had them). I found a dead ghost shrimp this morning, but the body was intact, no signs of violence. I think there maybe something they need in the water that I didn't have. Iodide? Maybe.

I was wondering if you guys even know how to breed them? I think that would be cool to do, but i have no idea what encourages them to breed. Or do they just do it randomly without any change in the water? If anyone knows please tell me.

i've heard adding a few drops of marine iodine helps keep them healthy, but I can only give u advice on the experience I will encounter on breeding them.

my ghosts get gravid often, but never any little shimp. im willing to bet any fish you add will slim the chance of shrimp proliferation.
