20 high stocking

i got a 20h complete set-up of kijiji for 50$ yesterday and now i need to stock it. how does this list sound

6 gold or glowlite tetras
2 females betas
6 y.sidthemunki loaches

to much, to little any feedback appreciated thx!

My friend had some female bettas and they killed each other off and also killed their males. The males each had their own tank and they each had 2-3 females. Just something to think about. I dont know if that is normal because I am still new at this whole fish thing.

there are a lot of people who keep female betas with other fish just fine. I think you list looks ok

I have found that to be happy, female bettas need to be in groups of at least four to ease out aggression.

Female bettas need to be in a group of at least 4, in order to establish a hierarchy. Otherwise the less dominant betta will be harassed. That being said I don't think a 20H has the right footprint for a group. Most will say a 20L is the minimum.

I agree with what has been said so far, in a large enough tank a group of 4+ female bettas can get along ok. With only 2 however, the weaker one will be harassed/beat up.

I agree as well that female should have 4 in a group and best in a 20 long.
Halfmoon would look amazing with a school of 10 glolight tetras and maybe 4-5 loaches.

are rummies to big for a 20H? turns out a lfs i never been to has them and ive always wanted them

I would scratch the idea of bettas or gouramis. Go for more schooling fish.
