I work at a pets store and had just received a few fish from a costumer who is moving. Among the many fish he brought in...I adopted an African Brown Knife and a ??Siselean Worm?? not sure on the spelling...I'm hoping that there is someone out there that can give me a little insight on my new aquatic friend. He is now 20 inches long and I really need to know what he eats...what kind of water conditions they prefer and/or anything anybody might know. Also, if anyone can tell me how to correctly spell what ever it is...that will help me to locate some info over the internet... I am housing him in a 125 gallon tank...is he going to out grow that?? Also, he is sharing the tank with several fish with the smallest being 2.5 inches...will they be ok...or might they become a snack?? Thank you to everyone for any info that you might be able to provide!!

Yes it is the Rubber Eel a.k.a. Caecilean Worm. The web sites that you provided for me gave me a little insight on the big guy... I was very happy to read that he will only get a couple inches bigger...and thank you for your help!
Happy to help... and glad you like them... I don't know, it would give me the creeps, I have a hard enough time ignoring all the little earthworms in my garden.
He does kind of give me the creeps but I'm getting used to it. It's rather entertianing to watch...and am glad my co-worker talked me into taking it.
Dunno what's creepy about them- they aren't worms or anything... they're amphibians. Personally, I like 'em. If I had anywhere to keep one, I probably would...

He's a pretty neat guy...and it doesn't bother me or the fish he shares the tank with...I'm just worry that he might get curious and suceed at getting out of my tank...it got a tight lid...but I still worry. I was told that these are not sold anywhere around me...so I really don't want him to exscape and dry up and die.
I do have one more question...since he is an anphibian...does he need away to get out of the water...or will he be ok with out. He's been in my tank for about a week and seems to be doing fine.
