Hello Everyone,
I havent been to this site in quite awhile, but after giving a friend my spare 60g and helping him set it up, I have decided to set up a spare 20g long(30x12x12) I have lying around. (run-on sentence) Anyways, I am kinda undecided about what I want in it. I was thinking maybe a dwarf puffer species tank or rams, not sure though. I would really appreciate any other suggestions and reasons why you would suggest.

Oh Yeah, it's gonna be heavily planted with about 3 watts per gallon if that would make a difference. I would rather 1-2 centerpiece fish, unless I go with puffers.(maybe 6-7 of those)

Thanks in advance for any advice given...

A pair of breeding rams with a small school of cardinal (maybe 8) would be wonderful in a 20 gallon long.

6 dwarf puffers would work. You might wanna stick like 20 gut-loaded ghost shrimp in there for midnight snacks, too! That's what I do and my puffers are happy and always nice and full.

I vote for the german blue ram pair...and a school of black neon tetra and a couple of otos.....use a black colored substrate and your tank will be awsome !! :thm:

I also have a 20L that I am slowly gathering necessities for and had pretty much decided that was what I was going to do with it..

I have zebra danios in my 20-long and they really seem to enjoy the long space to race around. That might be an option, unless you get something else that's not compatible.

You could go a South American leaf fish(Monocirrhus polyacanthus) they like soft water with plants. They fun to watch when they feed. Dont move a lot though.

One thing haven't thought of.......consider the parameters of your water...PH, Hardness...etc. when decideing what fish you will want to keep in there. It wouldn't be any fun if you had to constantly moniter the PH or anything else to keep them happy...

Just a thought.... ;)
