I have a 20 gallon long tank. It's currently setup on a small coffee table. The coffee table can hold the 200 lbs., but the problem is the tank overhangs off of the edge on either end by about 3 inches.

Do I have to worry about the tank bending and breaking seals?

i have my 20 gal reg, on a dresser. i wouldnt advise it because the the stress on the dresser is noticeable. better off forking out the cash for a proper stand.

Thanks, I'll check into getting a stand for it at my LFS. Or I might just build one (2 years construction experience.)

is it bad if a 20L is just alittle of center. like not level

it could be bad in the long run, a lot of stress on one side could cause you to come home from work one day to see your house flooded

build your own it will be cheaper and more self rewarding

You can just build a box of 3/4" plywood (maybe even 1/2" for a 20). Leave the front open with a 1X2 central support, seal it, and voila! Tank stand.
