I have a 29 gallon heavily planted tank with 2 65 watt smartpaq fixtures over it. Do it yourself co2. All of my plants are thriving except for my crypts and my micro sword. My crypts are barly growing and my micro sword is growing but lots of green spot algae. Does anybody know why this is happening?

I also have a 29 Gal planted. I've not had as high wpg as you have, but I have had over 2wpg and DIY co2. I've noticed that pretty much no matter what I do, (ie, dosing macro's and micro's, CO2/lighting etc..) my crypts grow slowly. I also think that just what you get with crypts. I like them because they grow under low light conditions, but I don't think they will ever be fast growers.

As said above, the Crypts are slow growers. I find they do better when they have a little shade from other plants.

The algae on the Micro Sword is probably from the high light. With that much light, DIY doesn't really keep up (or atleast that was my experience). I'd think about investing in pressurized CO2 with that much light.
