:1zhelp:

I had figured that since a 10g weighs (the actual tank, empty) about what 5 lbs? 8?

(tempered glass, nobody sells acrylic ones here :P)

That a 20 would only be maybe 10 or 20 lbs at most,
and following that line of thought,

a 29g - the one I just got - would weigh between 15lbs and 25 at most.

It must be heavier than that because I can lift 25lbs on a good day (was more before injuring my back, but now that's a lot to lift).

How much does an empty 29g glass tank actually weigh?

The shelf only says up to 350lbs, I thought that would be enough (with a bunch of lbs to spare just in case they lied :irked: or something. I think the rule is actually only put up to half the weight on a shelf that the maufacturer claims...), but now I'm doubting that. :(

Does anyone happen to know?

Help is appreciated, thank you! :)

A gallon of water weighs 8 pounds. So the water in your tank weighs 242 pounds. Plus the weight of your tank, substrate, filter, hood, light, heater and decorations.
So 330 is a decent guess.
