Ok here is my 2g hex. It was sitting on my back porch with some plants, and ram snails in it over the summer. I moved it in today.

It has flourite over top soil. 4 small crypt bronze, an unknown anubias, two rocks, and I believe the ground cover is blyxa japonia. Lighting is a full spectrum, don't remember the watts.

Planning on getting some small branch or two of driftwood. I don't know what I'll stock it with. Cherry shrimps, a betta. Ideas?

I'd definetely go for the driftwood and some RCS! I love those little guys:hearts:. Their so funny to watch hover through the water like little helicopters.

Love the tank BTW!

How tall is that tank? I like it!!!!

That's a sweet tank with awesome dimensions! I'd want to add some vals to add some vertical green along with your branchy wood. I'd also go for a shrimp tank. Have you seen Happypoet's blue pearl shrimp? Gorgeous. His Yellows are stunning, too. If it's unheated/cooler, you could try crystal reds.

CPDs and erythromicron rasboras won't thrive in that tank since there is not enough room, especially horizontally, for them to swim in. Go with even smaller fish like Boraras brigittae or merah, both of which msjinkzd has for sale. You should be ok with 6-8 Boraras in that tank. Also, what you have is probably dwarf Sag, not Blyxa.

What do you mean by thrive? I have CPD in a planted pico about 1.7 g and they seem happy to me. No more or less than the 20 or so in my 20G long. Observing what I have of my CPDs they spend a lot of time along the bottom and only come up to the top to feed. If I float plants in the tank then they spend time swimming in the roots or whatever I float. I think the hex design would be more of a benefit as well but to each there own the more space the better.

Boraras species are really cool as well but I thought CPD max at 1" and Boraras can get slightly bigger than that.
