I just had a male 3 spot gourami die on me today. Whenever I lose a fish (no matter if it's big or small) it puts me in a sullen mood but it was his time, he was old & on his way out for the last couple of months. He wasn't sick, just slowly withering away, hiding, coming out occasionally to feed, then hiding again, moving around laboriously etc (all the rest of his tank mates are fine - 4 female three spot gouramis, 2 emerald cories, & 5 neon tetras).
Him & his harem were purchased back in 2006, & I know the life span for 3 spot gouramis is about 4 years so he live a long life but I was just curious to know from those of you that either keep or have kept 3 spot gouramis, What is the longest amount of time that you've had a 3 spot gourami live in your aquarium(s)?
