i went to my lfs and i ask him for sum guppies he told me he don't sell guppies n he also tell me they die 3 to 4 days is it true do they die 3 to 4 days cause my didnt die for 3 or 4 day.

It's not true; your LFS does not know what there talking about and the person you talked to probably doesn't even have an aquarium of there own, or atleast hasn't kept guppys in a tank of there own.

I've had that problem with Swordtails before, but not at the rate of 3 to 4 a day.

Yeah, I was thinking mabey the guy got a few of them and threw em into a small bowl of water, then they died a few days later.

and/or they have very poor quality fish with all kinds of diseases, parasites, and weaknesses. not to mention poor breeding, possibly inbreeding for several generations.

this happens alot wth guppies... once a breeder finds a cool strain, he/she wants to make numerous individuals within that strain, and sometimes the only way to preserve the strain is to inbreed ... the more inbreeding there is the weaker the fish's immune systems get... just look at the wild form of guppies (Endler's) and the very fancy aquarium forms. most Endler's will outlast fancy aquarium strains if the water quality is bad or the tank is not fully cycled

You know, its entirely possible that some people literally dont have a mastery of the english language. I dont know if this is the case here, but try to be a little more open minded! (I know, I know, youre a Leo, you know all. But still! You cant see the guy or hear any accents or anything on the internet, so giving the benifit of the doubt may be in order here.) At least he's asking newbie questions in the newbie forum and becoming informed.
