I need some suggestions for a centerpiece fish for my 30 gallon tank. It's a heavily planted tank with soft water and a pH of around 7. I currently have 11 harlequin rasboras, 4 bronze cories (which might be getting moved to a different tank), 2 ottos and a few apple snails.
Because the tank has a lot of red and green plants in it, I'm hoping to find a blue or purple fish to use as a centerpiece. Yellow might be ok too, but I definitely don't want a red, orange or green fish. Also, because most of my fish are short-finned river fish, I'd like to find a more graceful, long finned fish for the centerpiece.
I've thought about getting a betta, but they tend to be too aggressive to keep with snails. Gouramis are pretty, but they're not really all that graceful and "flowy," if you know what I mean. I've considered guppies too, but I think they're a little too small to make a good centerpiece.
Here's a picture of my tank. It's a little blurry but I think you can get a general idea of what my tank looks like.
