I just discovered today that my turtle tank is leaking. :headshake2: I got this tank several years ago at a yard sale, never have kept fish in it (turtles are the closest to fish this tank has had in all the time I've had it). Yesterday I filled it a little higher than I normally do, and I guess that was enough. I'd suspected something was up for a while because water evaporated out of it way to fast (or so I thought...), but the floor was never wet and I never saw evidence of it leaking. I was planning to buy them a new tank anyway, but was going to wait awhile. I guess that's not going to happen.

So, if anybody in the Kentuckiana/Greater Louisville area has a good size tank they're looking to get rid of, let me know, please! I'm willing to buy it (of course). I'd prefer a 40 gallon breeder or a 55 gallon, as I'm pretty sure my mum would kill me if I got anything a whole lot bigger. Also, I'd like a stand for the tank, but that is in no way a must. I just really need a tank.

I live in Bullitt county, pretty close to Louisville. I'm willing to go anywhere in the 'Ville, and will go as far away as E-town or Shelbyville (maybe further if it's a really good deal). I'll even go over the river into Indiana.

(Also, if you don't have a tank available, maybe you know somebody who does?)

I've checked Craigslist ad nauseam, but I haven't heard of, or checked Kijiji. I will do that now. Thanks.

Edit: No luck there either. The only aquarium listed on Kijiji is a 29 that somebody wants $75 for (though it does come with filter and light, but I've already got those).

I am keeping an eye out. In fact, I may have found one, bigger than I wanted, a bit pricier than I want, but beggars can't be choosers I guess. I'll see if I get it in a couple days (we just had a massive winter storm, everything's coated in ice and snow, tons of people are without power).

The turtles it's for are African Sidenecks, or African Helmeted turtles, Pelomedusa subrufa. They are quite awesome turtles. I also have a little (2.5") yellow bellied slider. He was supposed to get the tank that busted when I moved the bigger turtles to a new tank. I'll probably reseal it so he can use it. I really hate seeing him in a ten gallon (he's normally in a little preformed pond that's about 25 gallons or so, but got kicked out today so the other two could use it temporarily). He'll get the bigger tank in the summer when the other two get their 125 gallon pond outside.
