Well, I finally got the tank. I've been eyeballing it at work for about 3 years and they finally dropped it to $200. Of course, it was less with my discount.

Stupid card reader decided to break but this would be the tank:

So now I come to stocking. This is the first tank I've had in a long time to set up from scratch, so I don't want to move fast.

This was the stock I was considering:

5x assorted rainbows
1x male paradise gourami
2x purple spotted gurdgeon
something else?

OR

1x female angel
5x rummynose tetras
8x assorted cories
1x rubberlip/bulldog pleco
dwarf cichlids?

I own all of these fish currently. I bought the hex because I'm tearing down my 55 gallon. It's too big and I don't have the space for it right now. So the fish either go in the stretch hex or a standard 29 gallon tank.

Filtration would be a fluval 305, seeded with mature media.

Decoration I was thinking something like Shibby's 65 gallon, if I did the rainbows:

If I did the amazon, I'd simply move over my driftwood and plants and use sand as well.

Suggestions?

Oceanic is a quality glass tank & the 'stretch hex' is an interesting design. I'm partial to the 'amazon' theme except w/ natural gravel, driftwood & plants but that's just me. I think you could benifit greatly w/ a filtration addition of another 'can' or 'hob' for redundancy but it's not imperative. Best of luck w/ the new setup whichever way you choose to go. 'T'

I like the angel and tetra/cory idea. Nice tank.
