After getting my tank nice and cycled and everything level and my fish being all happy, I decided that I wasn't happy, I needed a bit darker tank, More contrast! Especially considering the fact that 1/2 my fish are albino the light substrate was making them invisible!

So here I present to you, My before and after shots. Please let me know what you think!

I currently have 2 albino cories, 1 albino BN pleco, and 4 fancy guppy males with 2 fancy guppy females (I pretty much count these as albino since their bodies are white with tiny color on tail fin)

My future plans for the tank are this:

1. Get a couple more albino cories, just 2 in a 45 seem kind of lonely.
2. Possibly get like 3 Kuhli Loaches.
3. Get some plants, possibly thinking Water sprite and baby dwarf tears (I have approx. 1w/g, let me know if you think this will work, if not, let me know what you think a good alternative to these plants would be!)
4. Find an elusive Royal Farlowella!
5. Find some sort of colorful centerpiece fish of some sort, possibly thinking on some blue rams, not sure yet.
6. Find some freaking driftwood that I like!:wall: it is not going so well
7. Some day... be totally happy with my setup of my 45g and begin designing something that I will build my self, making it huge and magnificent!
8. get some neat snails or some cool shrimp, maybe both, who knows.

Nice tank. Not sure about the lighting, seems a little too low for the plants you listed. I'd avoid getting a royal, look up how big they get.

Most things I have read on the Royal state 8" and that 30g is a minimum, at 45 I should be alright. Unless information I have found is wrong (which is entirely too possible).

How much lighting would I need in order to keep those plants? And does anyone know where I might be able to find a dual bulb 48" fluorescent strip for cheap? 100$ seems a bit much for something as simple as that.

I am considering making a Java moss wall for the back of the tank to cover all those annoying cords and hoses. Does anyone have any input into how much light a java moss wall would require? I am open to other suggestions on plants as well, or a link to any information on building a java moss wall would also be appreciated.

Allright, Lets get some updates of the fish I have in this crazy tank so far. You can find my current inhabitant problems in the cichlid thread due to my angels and... well now guppies, If you can think of whats wrong with her (dots on tail included) please let me know, but I digress, On with the show!

Current inhabitants:
3 Hybrid Stripe Angels
2 Albino Cory
1 Albino Teminiki
7 Misc Guppy
1 (maybe 2) Desert Goby... Cant find the second one, he likes to hide, and neither will allow pictures.
